Intro to Personal Finance I and II

Financial Technology, or so-called FinTech, has been used in the finance industry for some time, but it is increasingly becoming a necessary skill set for laymen to carry out common chores in daily life

Many people are scared to deal with technology when it involves money, and some believe that FinTech is only a younger generation’s business. If you wanted to start a small business in the past, you would go to your local bank to ask for a loan, and if you want to build wealth, you would seek out bankers or investors who would process the transactions for you.  Not any longer!  The finance industry is rapidly changing, and any savvy person will want to actively utilize FinTech as a vital tool in both their business and personal finance planning.

FinTech is revolutionizing the way of doing business in internet banking, electronic payments, mobile transfer, online transactions, web-based loan applications, fundraising, crowdfunding, robo-investment, and others. The trend is not just in the U.S., as it is growing globally as well. Accordingly, we need to stay informed of, acquire knowledge about, and take advantage of FinTech.

In this beginning class, students can learn basic elements of Finance/Business and obtain hands-on experience on their own electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, pads, financial calculators, or notebook/laptop computers. This FinTech Beginners course will be followed by a Financial Technology Intermediate class
