Where you born and raised?
I was born & raised in Korea. I came to USA as a student when I was 21 years old.
What are your favorite sports/clubs/hobbies?
I like to paint and cook. I play golf a little bit.
What are your children’s names? What is the most important piece of advice that you have/will pass on to your children?
I have two daughters, Julia and Sunnie. Find a work you like to do. It is easy to do a good job, if you like the work.
Little known fact or award/honor most proud of?
I am very proud of being a mother.
Can you provide a brief overview of your work history and current
title/position? Other civic/community involvement?
I founded a company (Advanced Food System) with my husband in 1982.
I am a vice president of the company. I want to make my company a nice place to work for my employees. I am the Chairman of the Board of Korea Social Service Foundation, a non-profit organization in Korea.
What is the best career advice you ever received? Who was your most influential mentor and what did he/she teach you?
My father was the most influential mentor. He gave me advices on life in general, not specific to my career. I learned from him to be independent, confident and be aware of the needs of others.
How did you get involved with KCCP and what is your favorite memory or experience?
I heard about KCCP from the Uncle of one of my employees. I really enjoy my time with Woman’s Club and Senior Club.
What advice would you have for the next generation of Korean Americans and Princeton Korean American community?
You are connected to two different cultures. Considered it a privilege and get the most out of it. Be an expert on a topic you like and passionate about. This will lead to a good career and happy life. Find friends and keep them through out your life to share and help each other.
