(Kingston Presbyterian Church)

“Children, did you wash your hands?”
“Yes, we did.”
“Watch carefully. This is how you make the half-moon shape of ‘Songpyun’.” (Songpyun is a Korean rice cake for the Moon Festival.)

Princeton Korean School students are not only learning Korean language but experiencing Korean culture firsthand, such as by making Songpyun. The Princeton Korean School was started 18 years ago by first generation Koreans to educate future generations. We strongly believe this education process will enable our children to grow with a deep-rooted Korean identity, which can otherwise be lost in the melting pot. Our ultimate goal is to help our young Korean Americans contribute productively to the global community, as Korean Americans.

This year we again invite you and your family* to join us for another heartfelt celebration of Korean culture at the Korean American Institute of Princeton’s (KAIP’s) Annual Fundraising Event. The KAIP is a non-profit organization that carries out its mission through the Princeton Korean School. Generous contributions from friends in the community have been the main source for its operating budget, and we are so grateful for the continuous support.

This event is KAIP’s primary fundraiser. We also want to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for our sponsors and patrons. Please come and enjoy performances of traditional Korean folk songs as well as Western arias by accomplished professional opera singers (this music program is open to all, free of charge for music lovers). The music program starts at 7:30 P.M.

We kindly ask you to support the KAIP by joining us** during the evening of November 8th—in the middle of the Great Season—and we would appreciate your generous donation for this good cause.

Sincerely,

KAIP – Board of Trustees, PTA and Teachers’ Association
