Hundred Dogwood Trees in our Land

The Korean Community Center’s nickname could be “Dogwood Garden.” Dr, Sam Sim, a KCCP founding member, donated about 100 kousa dogwood trees (10 years old, 8′ to 10′ tall) including all expanses associating with transplant this March. KCCP greatly appreciates his passion and generosity.

Dr, Sim said “the kousa dogwood is a beautiful, carefree, flowering tree that provides visual interest year round. White spring time blooms and red berries last for months, followed by striking red and purple hues just in time for the autumn season. The trees provide a safe haven for birds in the winter, and unlike regular dogwood trees, the white kousa is cold hardy and resistant to a multitude of pests and diseases.”
At the beginning of this month, Dr. Sim also cut overgrown weeds with a heavy mowing machine and erected two “No Trespassing” signs-one in the entrance and another in the gazebo.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure for manually preserving brain function until further measures to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest. It is indicated in those who are unresponsive with no breathing or abnormal breathing, for example, agonal respirations.
